One More Thing

We are drawing to to the end of the year and inevitably you may find yourself thinking back on this year. On some good stuff that happened to you, and some not so good stuff that happened that when you remember you start to relive that terrible mood it put you in. Or even think about somethings that you swear never happened, because you have no intention of ever remembering it. Case closed.

Maybe you hop on these social media streets and you watch on as people recount some of the ah-maa-zing things that happened to them this year and you sit down quietly not sure whether to hope one more time that something good could happen to you, or to just give up and accept that maybe some things are meant to happen, but just not happen to you.
You start to give yourself a pep talk about how not everyone is supposed to have certain things. You even find some good examples of some good people who however did not ever get some positive stuff they so wished and prayed for. Well they still are okay so you too you will be okay abi. Forgette koraa you tell yourself, can't come and kill yourself waiting day after day, month after month, year after year. For what.sigh.

You are not a bad person but you are just honestly tired of smiling one more time as your friend tells you about the raise she just got at work when you can't even get a temporal job.
You are not a hater but how many times are you supposed to like all the lovey dovey photos your friends upload of themselves and their boos or baes.
Children are a blessing and cute and all but are you supposed to like them when you've been praying for them for so long but they just refuse to come to you?

The year is going to end soon and everyone is talking about the exciting things they are believing to happen in the next year but isn't that what they always do every year end. Last year you believed that this was going to be the year you made it. Same as last two years. In fact even your Facebook memories seem to tell a story of how you've always believed every year was going to be your year. But here you are.

Let me remind you of a certain time when a group of people went through a similar phase. These were supposed to be God's people. The Almighty's people. The favorite ones, you know. The chosen ones. And a Powerful God. Just incase you start telling yourself maybe good things are not happening because you are someway so God doesn't like you much.
Well these people had been going through some moments of struggle and God sent word to Moses talking about how He was going to deliver His people with many signs and wonders.
Yeah,yeah.
Moses did the first sign, but what happened? Pharoah basically just rolled his eyes when the magicians replicated the 'wonder'. Next🙄.
Long story short most of the signs and wonders did not move Pharoah. You can imagine what was going through in the minds of so many people and that's another story for another day.
But in Exodus 11:1, God said I will do one more thing. And this will be the deal breaker.
You've had your heart broken month after month as you have watched all the promises you believed in crush to the floor. You have watched all the guys you believed were going to be the One, lead other women to the altar. In fact some of them you had to actually sit and watch them exchange vows. How many more companies are you supposed to send your curriculum vitae to? How many times are you still supposed to believe in Thus Sayeth the Lord?
God says, One more time.
What if the next attempt is the lucky break. But you will never know until you take the step in faith.
Trust God again. Gather confidence again.Step out again.Believe again.
Our lucky break is coming and the world would testify of the Miracle God has done in our lives.

A god’s election.

All the houses that led to the Kansie shrine had no aluminum roofing. The first thing you noticed at the premises were the skull of donkeys in the rocks that housed the shrine. The skulls were kept buried because whenever it was left in the sun, the entire village suffered migraines. Everyone who entered the shrine had to be topless. No one ever returned from Kansie still bearing whatever issue had caused them to enter into it in the first place. This was where recognized fetish priests sought fortification from; and where they directed important people to seek help when they knew they could not handle the situation they brought with them. One had to be parsimonious and ready to do as was directed, because when the gods decided on what sacrifice they wanted, no appeal was heard. The national election was in two weeks and Fynn Aggrey was contesting. This was his second time running and although six others had picked up nomination forms, it was a clear contest between Fynn and Nii A

I want to be like you..,sure?

Just before he entered University of Ghana he was involved in an accident so had to move around with the aid of crutches. During that time, there was intermittent supply of water, meaning he needed to go fetch some for use. His cousin who had been helping him throughout his registration had left after he got his room and bed.  Now there he was, standing in front of the hall, with a bucket by his side, metals in his legs, P.O.P around them and holding his crutches; feeling extremely depressed wondering how he was supposed to function in school without any help; asking himself if he should have just stayed home. But right there, he saw another student walking towards the hall, a visually impaired student, tapping the ground with his cain as he made his way slowly into the hall. He said that was the last time he allowed himself to ever get depressed about whatever situation he found himself in, because as bad as he felt his present situation was, he had so many other things going on for

A FAMILY AFFAIR

KenaKrom was a small fishing village, which lacked any vibrant form of modern entertainment, the old folks were left to telling stories to their grandchildren at sunset to keep them entertained. The young adults gathered in the town square to listen to the men play drums while the females danced. The highlight of the people’s year was when they celebrated their festival. They watched as the chief priest performed various strange acts while the best drummers played to urge him on. After the festival he chose the most handsome looking young boy in the village to be taught by him and train him as a future priest. This year, rather surprisingly the gods had chosen who the villagers agreed was the most unintelligent child. Kenakrom’s richest family was the Nyarko-Ansah family. The Nyarko-Ansah family was not only the richest but the largest, and more than half of the people of this small village traced their lineage to this family’s ancestry. The village kingmakers came from that family,
