Mystery of the unknown

Two stories: A young recently married man asked his wife why she always cut her sausage into two before frying it. Her only reply was that her mother did it that way. The man went to his in law and asked why she taught her child to cut her sausage into two before frying. Was there a special reason? No, that's how my mom fried it, she also replied.
