'It will end in praise.'

Earlier this week I heard a preacher on radio reading a certain verse and using it to exhort listeners around dawn.A little interesting because I hardly ever tune in to radio at that time these days and I really am grateful that I got to hear that word and I believe it would be useful to you guys.
Josh 6: Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out and none came in.
wow. A whole city was shut up just because of a specific group of people. Now if it were shut out because 'it's our city, we don't want anyone coming in' then ok, I mean it's problematic and all but we will take it. But no, it was shut down because we don't want one group in particular coming in.
And then God says: 'See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its King and the mighty men of valor'.
Wait, The city is securely shut up and you are saying you have given it into my hands. Not You will give it but you have? So why I'm I outside the gates?
I have given you a great husband! -But erm I don't see anyone by me when I turn in at night, just my pillow and my little stuffed doll..
I made you a millionaire! -I see you have jokes because I know what my mobile money account is saying now!
I have made you a first class student! -Can you stop trying to mock me? I know what I got in the quizzes I wrote and please let's not go there.
I'm sure you can add more examples of how absolutely incredulous it seems to get over the mountain before you.
It will amaze you how a whole system may be put in place just to get You, specifically, out of something. Just to make it impossible for you to make it to a certain height, people who are entirely against you will go through extremes just to disqualify you.
Eg: Imagine a certain energy booster is acceptable in a game you compete in, but just when you start taking it, a law is made that makes it illegal for one to play a game with such a substance in their blood stream. Because they know you just started taking it!
Or a course that is non scoring which you didn't do too well in is suddenly made to count, just because maybe the lecturer knows you failed it and it will bring you down and so just because of You, the whole program is entirely restructured.
But listen to what God says: I have given it to you. That thing for which they are trying to disqualify you from, prevent you from accessing, i have actually placed into your hands.
Hold on, not that I will allow them to give you opportunities to come in once a while and vacation, but i have given the entire thing to you to control.
Let me try and give you an example of how that can work.
I read about how a group of work colleagues wrote to the international office of the organization they worked in about how a colleague was terrible and was impossible to work with. They investigated and instead of booting her out, they rather found her to be the most valuable staff in the office. They promoted her to a higher level and now she had to directly decide whether she could work with those who were scheming to kick her out!
One of my favorite accounts in the Bible is that of Mephibosheth. He had become lame in the feet after he had been dropped accidentally when he was just a child and Ziba the servant tried to get him out of his inheritance. Long story short, he ended up at the Kings table and had Ziba and his children all working for him! 2Sam 9
Remember the story of Mordecai and Naaman?
Scriptures are interesting and even more amazing when they become practical in your life. And just as nations and kingdoms and structures and organizations etc were handed over to people who were being disadvantaged or discredited, I believe that God is going to turn things around to favor you. He says; where they disregarded you now they will have to go through you!
And today I really pray that whatever thing that people went out of their way to ensure that you don't get a chance at is actually delivered to you.
Believe in the promises of God: Bible says He calls the things that be not as though they were. So when God says You are blessed, it really doesn't matter if your account is about to be closed down for being dormant now, work hard and do what you can do and watch Him do what He can do.
One day we will talk about some of the unusual fascinating ways that God sometimes does what He says He will do. Till then I can't wait to hear about all the amazing turn arounds God brings to you.

A god’s election.

All the houses that led to the Kansie shrine had no aluminum roofing. The first thing you noticed at the premises were the skull of donkeys in the rocks that housed the shrine. The skulls were kept buried because whenever it was left in the sun, the entire village suffered migraines. Everyone who entered the shrine had to be topless. No one ever returned from Kansie still bearing whatever issue had caused them to enter into it in the first place. This was where recognized fetish priests sought fortification from; and where they directed important people to seek help when they knew they could not handle the situation they brought with them. One had to be parsimonious and ready to do as was directed, because when the gods decided on what sacrifice they wanted, no appeal was heard. The national election was in two weeks and Fynn Aggrey was contesting. This was his second time running and although six others had picked up nomination forms, it was a clear contest between Fynn and Nii A

I want to be like you..,sure?

Just before he entered University of Ghana he was involved in an accident so had to move around with the aid of crutches. During that time, there was intermittent supply of water, meaning he needed to go fetch some for use. His cousin who had been helping him throughout his registration had left after he got his room and bed.  Now there he was, standing in front of the hall, with a bucket by his side, metals in his legs, P.O.P around them and holding his crutches; feeling extremely depressed wondering how he was supposed to function in school without any help; asking himself if he should have just stayed home. But right there, he saw another student walking towards the hall, a visually impaired student, tapping the ground with his cain as he made his way slowly into the hall. He said that was the last time he allowed himself to ever get depressed about whatever situation he found himself in, because as bad as he felt his present situation was, he had so many other things going on for

A FAMILY AFFAIR

KenaKrom was a small fishing village, which lacked any vibrant form of modern entertainment, the old folks were left to telling stories to their grandchildren at sunset to keep them entertained. The young adults gathered in the town square to listen to the men play drums while the females danced. The highlight of the people’s year was when they celebrated their festival. They watched as the chief priest performed various strange acts while the best drummers played to urge him on. After the festival he chose the most handsome looking young boy in the village to be taught by him and train him as a future priest. This year, rather surprisingly the gods had chosen who the villagers agreed was the most unintelligent child. Kenakrom’s richest family was the Nyarko-Ansah family. The Nyarko-Ansah family was not only the richest but the largest, and more than half of the people of this small village traced their lineage to this family’s ancestry. The village kingmakers came from that family,
