The three crowns and you

The story is told of a great man of God who asked God who He God believed was the most important in his church.

Somehow in his heart he felt there was no way any person would be more important or valuable to God in his church than himself.

That evening God showed him a vision, where there were three crowns set out,all of different sizes. In the vision, God gave the middle sized crown to his assistant pastor, and proceeded to hand over the smallest crown to him. He was very surprised and wondered who would be the receiver of the largest crown. As he watched, the crown was handed over to an old lady who was a regular at church.

When he woke up,he was worried, as to why God didn't even give him the middle sized crown and went to the church to pray.

On reaching there,he asked the security man to give him the keys so he could open the door and go pray as dawn had not yet even broken out. He was surprised when the security man told him someone was already in there ; and added that the person always came there very early when ever there was going to be a service held to pray.

He entered the church and there was the woman he saw in the vision, praying for him!

He understood at that moment the vision.

While the world saw him,God saw this woman who nobody saw but diligently prayed every day for him to do that which he always did.

As Jesurun Simpson Nartey told me of a quote by Bishop Day: the magnitude of your work (or church)  does not determine your importance to God.

Don't be discouraged by the hardwork you put in something which still seems like nobody notices,God does. And He is a great rewarder. If you are doing some big things, pause and acknowledge and appreciate those behind the scenes which without them would be impossible to do what you do.

A god’s election.

All the houses that led to the Kansie shrine had no aluminum roofing. The first thing you noticed at the premises were the skull of donkeys in the rocks that housed the shrine. The skulls were kept buried because whenever it was left in the sun, the entire village suffered migraines. Everyone who entered the shrine had to be topless. No one ever returned from Kansie still bearing whatever issue had caused them to enter into it in the first place. This was where recognized fetish priests sought fortification from; and where they directed important people to seek help when they knew they could not handle the situation they brought with them. One had to be parsimonious and ready to do as was directed, because when the gods decided on what sacrifice they wanted, no appeal was heard. The national election was in two weeks and Fynn Aggrey was contesting. This was his second time running and although six others had picked up nomination forms, it was a clear contest between Fynn and Nii A

I want to be like you..,sure?

Just before he entered University of Ghana he was involved in an accident so had to move around with the aid of crutches. During that time, there was intermittent supply of water, meaning he needed to go fetch some for use. His cousin who had been helping him throughout his registration had left after he got his room and bed.  Now there he was, standing in front of the hall, with a bucket by his side, metals in his legs, P.O.P around them and holding his crutches; feeling extremely depressed wondering how he was supposed to function in school without any help; asking himself if he should have just stayed home. But right there, he saw another student walking towards the hall, a visually impaired student, tapping the ground with his cain as he made his way slowly into the hall. He said that was the last time he allowed himself to ever get depressed about whatever situation he found himself in, because as bad as he felt his present situation was, he had so many other things going on for

Madness or Hope?

A few days ago whilst talking to a very special friend and teasing him about how he doesn't seem to 'remember' me when his money comes, he suddenly said; 'okay say what you want, but tread cautiously because if it is not within my budget, you would not get anything at all' I started laughing because I felt like a beautiful trap had been set for me and i could not figure out how to navigate my way around it. Well I was unable to mention anything I wanted. I still haven't been able to. Imagine getting an endorsed cheque, yet blank, from someone with large financial resources and the person asking you to write whatever amount you desired. The only catch is that you should have faith that the person has enough in their account to grant what you write. Yet, you are plagued with the question:'what if I get to the bank and it bounces?' I write these blogs not because I'm always in a perpetual hopeful mood. There are days that I sincerely worry about how
