Beyond Feelings

Feelings? They can be nice sometimes. Like when you have deep feelings (of love) for someone and they love you right back.
But they can be that thing that stays right with you when you want nothing to do with it.
Like when you love someone who doesn't even know you exist. Or you still love someone you were with who is totally over you, and doesn't even remember the first alphabet of your name.
Most of us, as humans have feelings. It is a part of us: whether we want them or not.
However, we cannot make major life decisions simply based on feelings. We cannot accept to marry someone simply because whilst proposing they looked deep into our eyes and our hearts started beating faster than we ever thought possible.
You can't take a knife and go stab someone simply because the way they talk or walk or dance annoys the heck out of you.
Feelings can be fickle. Even Jesus had them and they were on full display in the garden of Gethsemenae and all he wanted to do was give up on the reason for coming to Earth. But he knew He couldn't let his feelings have him although he had them.
There would be many regrets if we don't deliberately let go of certain things even though we truly deep down in our hearts really want them, yet knowing the end of that thing would be nothing but terrible.

I want to be like you..,sure?

Just before he entered University of Ghana he was involved in an accident so had to move around with the aid of crutches. During that time, there was intermittent supply of water, meaning he needed to go fetch some for use. His cousin who had been helping him throughout his registration had left after he got his room and bed.  Now there he was, standing in front of the hall, with a bucket by his side, metals in his legs, P.O.P around them and holding his crutches; feeling extremely depressed wondering how he was supposed to function in school without any help; asking himself if he should have just stayed home. But right there, he saw another student walking towards the hall, a visually impaired student, tapping the ground with his cain as he made his way slowly into the hall. So What?

Have you found yourself doing something that you knew wasn't really 'right' or even downright wrong but you loved it so much that you damn all consequences and just live in the moment? Or when you really feel guilty about doing something but you refuse to even ask for forgiveness about it because you know even before you say Amen that you will do the exact same thing again as soon as you get the opportunity to? I don't know about you but I have. There are some things that honestly I have attempted 'negotiating' with God to give me a pass on, while I gather strength to overcome lol. You may pass your own judgment on this and say 'then you are not really sorry or you don't want to let go enough'. Ok, Most Strongest, when I grow up I want to be like you and be able to easily let go of things that i need to without even a little struggle.
