Imagine when you were very young, maybe say sixteen years, you got yourself a little tattoo. So little, people standing close to you don't notice unless you show it to them or they really stare at you for a long time. You got it because all your friends were getting it, not for any sentimental reasons. Then maybe two years later you decide to join the Ghanaian army and they disqualify you because of the little tattoo you have on your body.
Or let's say when in school, you joined a group of guys who were involved in a riot. Maybe it didn't even start as a riot but it escalated and before you knew what was happening you were arrested by the police and they put you in their records. Now years later you try to apply for certain positions and you are disqualified because you check the little box that says 'do you have a police record?'.
Maybe you don't have dramatic stories of things you have lost as a result of decisions you took sometime back or things you did. But you do have a record of things you have done or been involved in that has left a scar on your mind. No one is judging you but you judge yourself every single morning that you wake up. You probably have stopped doing those stuff but its memories are imprinted on your brain and you can't seem to shake it off. You crucify yourself every single time.
Well you are not alone. You have heard the scripture 'There is nothing new under the sun' before right?. Allow me to introduce to you a couple of people who have walked the path on which you thread:
Once upon a time a well known prostitute was approached by a couple of men to help them out. She did and is remembered as a woman through whom a large group of people were saved. Rahab.
A king called David slept with a married woman and set her husband up to be killed. He is in history as the man after God's own heart.
A beautiful woman who didn't have much use for men after a while and so ended up marrying five of them was the one Jesus Himself saw fit to use as ministry material.
And these are just a few examples from the bible only incase you want to doubt that God can still love you and have a good plan for your life. There are countless examples of other stories that speaks of God's redemptive grace.
So yeah you did something stupid, but no God isn't done with you. Don't forget that 'the end of a thing is better than the beginning'.
